One of the best excuses for having a party is Halloween. It's not really seen as a holiday or event and many people overlook it, but as far as good themed parties go there are few better than Halloween parties - costumes, decorations, food and of course games, what more does a party need to be a success? If you haven't been invited to one this year, why not host your own?
As with hosting any party one of the major stumbling blocks is finding the right venue. As Halloween is generally more a bit of fun more than other holidays such as Christmas, why not have a party at home? This may seem a little scary at first, but there are a few tricks you can put in place in advance to minimise the disruption.
If you are going to host your own party at home then you'll need to make sure there is enough space for everyone. Move as much as you can into your garage, or better still, if you have a sizable garage move as much as you can out of there and use that! With some customised storage and a few garage floor tiles you'll have a room ready to go and all of your valuables safely out of the way!
When you have made space the next thing to do is think about spooky decorations! Don't hold back on cobwebs, skeletons and any images of ghosts or ghouls you can find - if you have children they can help you design some scary images to attach the walls and doors. If you are holding the party in your garage, why not add some more scary ornaments in your garden and let the party spill out - what about a fake grave yard or for a high tech effect, hide a portable CD player to play scary sounds or wolf howls!
Along with the decorations, you should also put some consideration towards what food you will provide for your guests and of course what Halloween themed games you will be playing. Pumpkin soup and bobbing apples are a good place to start, but don't be afraid to be creative!
Parties at home can be a bit more stressful than using an external venue, but with the right preparation they can be a breeze, and of course enjoyable! Making space is one particular challenge that will need to be overcome, but don't forget to make full use of all the storage space your house has to offer including your garage and you may be surprised at how much space you really have! - 39969
